JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville junior goalkeeper Taylor Gardner has been named the ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Through two games so far this season, Jacksonville is the only team in the ASUN to have not allowed a goal, and Gardner is a huge reason why.

Gardner helped blank the University of Miami, 2-0, in JU's opening contest and kept Georgia Southern off the scoreboard Thursday, earning her the ASUN honors after a 0-0 draw with the Eagles. She faced 16 shots and four shots on goal over the course of 90 minutes, making four saves.

The junior transfer is the only ASUN goalie to have not yet conceded a goal across her entire time on the pitch. Jacksonville is 1-0-1 through its two contests, ahead of a Thursday night matchup at the University of Florida.

After two contests, Gardner already has a new career high in saves (six and counting) and has already played more minutes (180) than her two previous years of collegiate soccer. She is tied atop the ASUN, unsurprisingly, in goals against average and is sixth in the league in total saves.

Gardner is also the third Dolphin to be awarded an ASUN weekly award, joining teammates Ula Omerzu (Player of the Week) and Millie Urquhart (Defensive Player of the Week) from the first week of competition.
