JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The first ASUN Player of the Week award for the 2025 season belongs to
Manuela Restrepo.
The women's soccer forward was
awarded by the conference office Monday for her efforts in the Dolphins' 2-0 start to the '25 campaign.
In Thursday's season opener, Restrepo netted a brace and a pair of assists to propel JU to a
9-0 win over Edward Waters. The game was not only JU's second-largest win in program history, but the most overall points collected in a contest by Restrepo while donning a JU uniform.
On Sunday, Restrepo was far from finished scoring as she netted JU's opening goal in the team's
4-1 win over Georgia Southern. Restrepo finished tied for the game-high in shots on goal while playing the fourth most minutes on the squad.
So far this season Restrepo leads JU in goals (three), assists (two), points (eight), shots (10) and shots on goal (seven).
As for the overall conference, Restrepo leads the ASUN in shots on goal, goals and points. The senior is second in total shots, tied for first in assists and tied for first in game-winning goals.
The Dolphins hit the road again this week, taking a trip down to the University of Miami on Sunday August 24. JU returns home to Southern Oak Stadium on September 4 against FAU after an August 31 trip to Troy University.
