Morton was named back-to-back Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year in 1983 and 1984. She earned three consecutive all-conference honors (‘82, ’83, and ‘84), while also being named Sun Belt Conference Tournament MVP in 1983.

Morton led the Dolphins to 105 wins in her career, including a program-best 35 wins in 1983. In that same year, the Dolphins took home the Sun Belt regular season and tournament titles, advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II tournament, and was ranked as high as 11th nationally. Also during that 1983 campaign, Morton finished with a school-record .487 hitting percentage along with 500 kills, 307 assists, 172 total blocks, and 57 service aces. Morton's jersey was retired on Sept. 21, 1994 and still hangs on the wall in Swisher Gymnasium next to the 1983 NCAA Tournament banner.
