Also named to the ASUN Conference’s 2016 Class, Daniel Murphy received his second Hall of Fame distinction of the year. The 2006 ASUN Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference selection was drafted by the New York Mets in the 13th round of that year’s draft. He was with the organization for 10 seasons before signing with the Washington Nationals prior to the start of the 2016 campaign.

With the Green and White, Murphy recorded a .366 batting average with 189 hits, 101 runs scored and 95 runs batted in. His average ranks ninth all-time in Dolphin history and the 88 hits he tabbed in the 2006 campaign is the eighth-best mark in a single season. Murphy is a two-time MLB National League All-Star, and was named the NLCS MVP after leading the Mets to the National League pennant in 2015.
