While seeing time in the outfield, at first and third base, as well as pitcher, he ranked among the top ten all-time leaders in home runs with 30, RBIs with 151 and total bases with 337 at the time of his induction. On the mound, he finished with a perfect 10-0 record and a 2.90 ERA.

As a senior, he tallied a team-high 11 home runs and 46 RBI, and went 6-0 in nine games with 23 strikeouts and a 2.79 ERA to lead JU to its first-ever postseason appearance. Ezzel had his best season at JU as a junior after posting career highs in batting average (.382) and home runs (12), while leading the team with 60 hits, 42 RBI and 34 runs.
