Jacksonville University

The father of Jacksonville University, Swisher’s benevolence and leadership gave the young school the foundation to build upon. A former chairman of the Board of Trustees, Swisher was instrumental in helping JU find its permanent home and the acquisition and building of the present campus today. A driving force in the community, his devotion to the University is honored with the Swisher Library, Swisher Auditorium, Swisher Gymnasium, and the Swisher Science Building each bearing his name.
