A native of Madison, Wis., Chuck Brendler played for the Dolphins while the school was still at the junior college level. His outstanding play led the team to back-to-back appearances in the Junior College National Tournament in 1955 and 1956. A 6 foot, 9-inch center, Brendler was selected as a First Team All-American after amassing 27.4 points per game and averaging 30.2 points in four games at the Junior College National Tournament in 1956.
