Legendary JU men’s basketball coach of the 1950's, Rollie Rourke served as the Dolphins' first director of athletics and men’s basketball coach beginning in 1953. He helped JU to consecutive JUCO National Finals appearances and continuing when JU became a four-year institution. His teams earned a 110-47 record. 

As men’s golf coach, the Dolphins won the 1970 International Collegiate Golf Championships in St. Andrews, Scotland and the 1977 Sun Belt title. His lifelong dedication to the Jacksonville Dolphins was shown through his commitment and passion day in and day out.
