Pembrook Burrows played basketball at JU from 1969-71 and was a starter on the legendary 1970 team that finished as the national runner-up to UCLA, going 27-2. He formed one half of the 7-foot duo with Artis Gilmore. At the time of his inauguration, he held the season (.670, 132-197) and career (.646, 256-396) marks for field goal percentage. Burrows led team in field goal percentage in ’70 (.622) and ’71 (.670), and tied for first in single-game records with a perfect shooting night (1.000, 9-9 vs. Biscayne 12-1-70).
